Emily's long awaited baptism day was a wonderful day filled with Family & Friends, and most importantly the spirit was in abundance.
My brothers family came the night before with my mom. Mikes Parents were driven up by Brianna (niece) on the day of with Athena (niece) following behind. We started out the day with Mike and Tye taking all 8 kids on a hike around the newly built and recently rained on West Wetlands park.
They had a blast, (just don't ask the older ones) Lisa, my mom and I stayed behind to get the luncheon ready for everyone. Mikes parents and their possy showed up shortly before the hikers came home. We enjoyed a wonderful meal together. Emily's baptism was scheduled for 4pm.
It was such a wonderful experience. Emily really seemed to be feeling the spirit and taking it all in. Grandma Squires gave an emotional talk on Baptism. After her baptism, Ryann gave an amazing talk on the Holy Ghost.
I was so proud of her. She volunteered to give the talk. She said she remembers Jordan giving that talk at her baptism and she wanted to make Emily's just as memorable for her. She did such a good job. After giving her some ideas she wrote the talk all by herself with a few edited parts by us. It was one of those uplifting moments that remind you why you do what you do, believe what you believe and live the way you live.
